Pebble Blue Flag beach west of the center, backed by the Beydağları mountains and a long promenade
Konyaaltı is Antalya's western beach, a long pebble shore with Blue Flag status and the Beydağları mountains rising directly behind it. The pebbles keep the water clear, which makes for good swimming and snorkeling. A promenade runs behind the beach with cafes, restaurants, and bars serving Turkish food and drinks, and the Beach Park section adds nightclubs and live music after dark. The beach draws a mix of locals and tourists, so it feels more like part of the city than a resort strip. Free changing rooms and showers are available, lifeguards patrol in season, and beach clubs rent umbrellas and sunbeds. Aqualand Waterpark is nearby for families. Jet skiing, diving, and parasailing operators work from the shore through the summer.

Local atmosphere mixing Antalya residents and international tourists
Several Antalya beaches hold Blue Flag certification for water quality. The Taurus Mountains form the backdrop, which is rare for a city beach. Some sections are resort-run with entry fees; others are free public sand.
The water is calm and shallow near shore, which suits families with children. Organized sections have sunbeds, showers, and food stands.
First-time visitors and solo travelers both manage easily here. The area is walkable, and staff at most sites are used to tourists.
Antalya runs at a relaxed Mediterranean pace. Meals tend to last a while, and it is normal for shopkeepers to offer visitors tea.
The city has been inhabited for over 2,000 years. Roman walls stand next to Ottoman houses in Kaleiçi, and many of those houses now work as cafes and small hotels.
Some local trades, such as boat building, still follow old methods. A few workshops let visitors watch. Ask first; most owners are happy to explain the work.
