Blue Flag sandy beach in the Lara district with shallow water and resort facilities
Lara Beach is a Blue Flag beach on the east side of Antalya, in the Lara district. The sand is white and fine, unusual for this coast, and the water stays shallow a long way out, which suits families with small children. The beach is both wider and longer than Konyaaltı, so even in high season there is room to spread out. The surrounding area is built up with large resorts and upscale restaurants, and beach clubs rent sunbeds and umbrellas along the shore. Public barbecue areas sit behind parts of the beach for picnics. Water sports operators offer jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, and banana boat rides. The season runs roughly April through November, with the best conditions from May to October.

Water sports heaven: jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, banana boat rides
Luxury beach club atmosphere with premium facilities
More space to spread out compared to other Antalya beaches
Several Antalya beaches hold Blue Flag certification for water quality. The Taurus Mountains form the backdrop, which is rare for a city beach. Some sections are resort-run with entry fees; others are free public sand.
The water is calm and shallow near shore, which suits families with children. Organized sections have sunbeds, showers, and food stands.
First-time visitors and solo travelers both manage easily here. The area is walkable, and staff at most sites are used to tourists.
Antalya runs at a relaxed Mediterranean pace. Meals tend to last a while, and it is normal for shopkeepers to offer visitors tea.
The city has been inhabited for over 2,000 years. Roman walls stand next to Ottoman houses in Kaleiçi, and many of those houses now work as cafes and small hotels.
Some local trades, such as boat building, still follow old methods. A few workshops let visitors watch. Ask first; most owners are happy to explain the work.
