A 9-minute cable car ride to a 618-meter summit with views over Antalya and the gulf
The Tünektepe cable car climbs from a base station about 10 minutes from downtown Antalya to the summit of Tünektepe Mountain, 618 meters above sea level. The ride covers 1,706 meters of cable in about 9 minutes, with 36 cabins moving up to 1,200 people per hour. From the top you look out over the city, the Gulf of Antalya, the Mediterranean, and the Bey Mountains behind it all. The summit has a revolving restaurant called Döner Gazino, nature trails, a playground, and a souvenir shop, so most people stay an hour or two. Adult tickets cost around 35 euros (roughly 1,200 lira), children aged 4 to 11 pay a reduced price, and children under 4 ride free. Mornings are quieter and usually clearer.

Antalya's geography is unusual. The Lower Düden waterfall drops off a cliff straight into the Mediterranean, and the Taurus Mountains rise directly behind the coast. You can swim in the morning and be in the mountains by afternoon.
Hikers and photographers get the most out of this spot. Wear proper shoes; paths near the water get slippery.
First-time visitors and solo travelers both manage easily here. The area is walkable, and staff at most sites are used to tourists.
Antalya runs at a relaxed Mediterranean pace. Meals tend to last a while, and it is normal for shopkeepers to offer visitors tea.
The city has been inhabited for over 2,000 years. Roman walls stand next to Ottoman houses in Kaleiçi, and many of those houses now work as cafes and small hotels.
Some local trades, such as boat building, still follow old methods. A few workshops let visitors watch. Ask first; most owners are happy to explain the work.
