Göcek Travel Guide
A quiet, elegant yachting village on the Gulf of Fethiye: twelve islands, pine-fringed coves and the gateway to Turkey’s Blue Cruise
Göcek is a small, upmarket village at the head of the Gulf of Fethiye, just 20 minutes from Dalaman Airport. It is built around several marinas, and in front of it lies a calm sea scattered with green, pine-covered islands and sheltered bays. This is a boating destination more than a beach resort: people come here to spend their days on the water, swimming from the deck in clear coves, and their evenings in waterfront restaurants watching the yachts come in. Göcek is quiet, safe and relaxed, with no big hotels and no loud nightlife.
Why go to Göcek
- For days on a boat: the sheltered gulf and its islands are perfect for day cruises, gulet holidays and yacht charters.
- For calm and comfort: boutique hotels, villas and good restaurants, without crowds.
- For an easy arrival: Dalaman Airport is only about 20 minutes away.
- For a base close to the highlights: Fethiye, Ölüdeniz and Dalyan are all within an hour.

- Gulet and yacht charter: Göcek is one of the main starting points for the “Blue Cruise”, multi-day trips on traditional wooden gulets, and for bareboat or skippered yacht charters.
- The marina promenade: a pleasant waterfront walk lined with cafés and restaurants, especially lovely at sunset.
- Inlice beach: a sandy public beach a short drive from the village, with shallow water that suits families.
- Walking and cycling: quiet coastal roads and paths through the pine forest.

Beaches and swimming
Göcek has a small town beach and swimming jetties, but the best swimming is from a boat among the islands, in water that is calm and clear. On land, Inlice is the main sandy beach, and pine-backed coves such as Katrancı and Günlüklü lie a little further west on the road to Fethiye.
